Edu institutions celebrate R-Day with enthusiasm, patriotic fervour | Flag-hoisting, cultural events mark celebrations | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 26: Impressive colorful cultural programmes besides, flag-hoisting ceremonies were held with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour in different educational institutions, including Universities, Schools and Colleges, to mark the celebration of 63rd Republic Day of the nation. In University of Jammu (JU), Vice Chancellor Prof Varun Sahni hoisted the Tricolor and released the balloons to mark the celebration of 61st Republic Day in a simple yet impressive manner. The security staff of the University led by Capt S R Dubey presented the Guard of Honour. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU), Katra also held an impressive and colorful function to mark the celebration of 61st R-Day. Vice Chancellor Prof R N K Bamzai unfurled the Tricolor and urged faculty, students and staff to work for the betterment of the institution. On the occasion, a scintillating and a sparkling cultural programme was also presented by the students that included musical extravaganza, patriotic songs and folk dances. KCS College of Education (Women), Paloura also held the celebration of R-Day. Principal Prof O P Sharma unfurled the Tricolor and threw light on importance of the Day. On the occasion, students of the college sung patriotic items. J&K Samaj Kalyan Kendra Secondary School for Hearing & Speech Handicapped Boys & Girls celebrated 63nd Republic Day in the School premises with great enthusiasm and gaiety. The students, teaching faculty and a good number of parents attended the function, besides members of Kendra Management Body. J.K.Vaid, General Secretary, hoisted the National Flag and led the assembly in the National Anthem Jana Gana Mana sung in unison with full vigour. This was followed by a short address to the gathering by him, congratulating all on the Republic Day. The celebrations culminated with distribution of sweets. Sri Ranbir Hr. Sec. School Parade, Jammu organized an impressive function on the occasion of Republic Day Celebrations, here today. The days proceedings were started with the Flag Hoisting ceremony at 7:30 am in the school premises where Mr. H.D. Qureshi the Principal of the institution took salute on the March Pass after Flag Hoisting. The Contigent of NCC, NSS, Navy, Band troop and the students of 40 sections of the institution took part in the parade. Dewan Badri Nath (DBN) School Mubarak Mandi, Jammu organized an impressive function on the occasion of Republic Day Celebrations on Thursday. The day's proceedings were started with the Flag Hoisting ceremony in the school premises where Manager Turst Rajender Kakkar, Indu Puri principal of the school took salute of the March Pass, followed by national anthem. A cultural show was also organized, in which the performance of students was marvellous and worth remembering. Sweets were also distributed among the school children. Gurukul English Medium Primary School ( Nagrota) , Jammu organized an impressive function on the occasion of Republic Day Celebrations, here today. Principal of the school, Roohi Sharma unfurled the national flag. The students sung patriotic songs and performed a skit. Principal, Roohi Sharma apprised the students about the existing of Indian Constitution. While joining the nation in Republic Day celebrations, Govt Degree College Akhnoor, celebrated 63rdRepublic Day here today with full patriotic fervour and gaiety. Principal of College, Dr. Kaushal Smotra, hoisted the national flag that was followed by national anthem. In her address, Dr. Smotra underlined the fact that understanding responsibilities and their sincere delivery by individual citizen can be true service to nation and an ideal way to implement the constitution to its fullest. R.M College of Education celebrated republic day with great fervor and gaiety. Trustee of the college Rita Mengi and Principal Mr.P.K Dhar along with staff and student of B.Ed BBA and BCA hoisted the National flag. Smt Rita Mengi highlighted the importance of the day. Air Force School Jammu celebrated 63rd Republic Day with patriotic fervor. Gp. Capt. Shashikant Pati, C Adm O Air Force Station Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion and Flt. Lt. Karishma Sethi O I/C Air Force School also graced the occasion. The function started with a welcome speech by Mr. Vikesh Sandhal, Principal Air Force School in which he implored all about the importance of the day. It was followed by flag being unfurled, National Anthem and Saluting National Flag. Vivekananda Institutes today celebrated the 63rd Republic Day with a lot of gusto and fanfare. A cultural Programme was organized which aimed to emphasize the importance of the constitution and the relevance of the day. Dy SP Hqrs Kathua S. Daljeet Singh of Police, Kathua graced this occasion as a chief guest and V.R. Sharma Joint Secty., J&K Board of School Education was the guest of honour. Other eminent dignitaries who were present on this auspicious moment were Dr. Sudarshan Kumar Gupta Chairman Vivekananda Institutes, Dr. Anju Sharma Principal Vivekananda College of Education, Principals & staff of various schools which accommodated B.Ed Pupil Teachers for Macro Teaching Practice, Parents of students besides a large enthusiastic crowd from the adjoining areas of the College. Programme started with unfurling of the national flag and singing of National Anthem. The chief guest took the salute from the contingent of N.S.S. Volunteers. Bharat Vikas Parishad Grameen Branch Rampur Gadwal too celebrated the Republic day at miidle school Gadwal where Satya Nand Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion . The students of the school on the occasion pre4snted various cultural items Republic Day day was celebrated with great pomp and gaiety at Gandhi Memorial College Of Education, Raipur, Bantalab Jammu.The celebrations began with Flag hoisting ceremony,the tricolour was Unflurred by President of the Hindu Education Society Kashmir shri Anil Dhar along with the Managment members of (HESK),which was followed by the National Anthem. Jodhamal School celebrated 63rd Republic Day with nationalistic fervour. A special programme was organized on the occasion. Lt. Col. S. B. Singh was the Chief Guest who hoisted the national flag and took salute and inspected the march past by the students of the four houses and young contingents of boy scouts and girl guides. MHAC School, Nagbani celebrated 63rd Republic Day by holding a special assembly which started with the Mantras. All the students of classes 1st to 8th participated in it. They started the programme with Sare Jahan Se Acchaa. Many patriotic songs and poems were presented by the students of 7th & 8th classes. A short speech was give by Shashi Rattan (Sup Head Primary School) and also explained the importance of the day. Continuing the tradition of celebrating national festivals, JK Montessorie Senior Secondary School, Tirth Nagar Talab Tillo Jammu in collaboration with Brainworks a chain of play way school presented a colourful programme on the eve of Republic day wherein students of the school participated with enthusiasm. The programme commenced with Flag hoisting ceremony by Director Academics Rajni Gupta. The chief Guest on the occasion was Prof Satish Anand, vice chairman of the school. Thereafter the students were briefed about the importance of the day by Geeta Dixit, the vice principal of the school. Republic Day was celebrated with fervour and joy in Model Academy at its B. C. Road and Residency Road branches. To celebrate the occasion, a number of activities were conducted by the school. This day was marked by organizing speeches, patriotic songs, inter-house painting competition and collage making competition on the theme "Patriotism". Humming Buds, The Preschool of Model Academy also took part in these colorful celebrations. The function was attended by Rupa Gupta Principal Model Academy, Ruchika Gupta Project Director Humming Buds, Usha Gadoo Vice Principal Model Academy, Gayatri Kotwal coordinator Primary wing, ManjuVali convener co - curricular committee. Speaking on the occasion Rupa Gupta reminded the students about the life of great patriots who contributed in making our country a republic. Republic Day was celebrated with patriotic fervour in Army Public School, Akhnoor. Initially Junior Wing celebrated republic Day having Principal KCS Mehta as the chief guest, who hoisted the national flag, Headmistress Anubha Singh Rawal encouraged the children followed by various colourful programmes of tiny talented tots. Senior Wing went hand in hand in celebrating the day with seriousness and sincerity. Col J Rampal and Col VK Shoree presided over the function. National flag was hoisted by Col J Rampal. Many colourful programmes like Mass PT, Aerobics, Vande Mataram-improvised; were all a feast to the viewer's eyes. Indian Public School, Kathua organized Republic Day ceremony at their school premises. The chief guest of the function Anu Dogra and Dr GP Sachdeva (Principal of RGMCE) welcomed by all staff members and students of kidzee. The ceremony was commenced with the parade by tiny tots of kidzee. The parade is followed by the cultural displays of patriotic songs and dances. 63rd Republic Day celebrations were held at SoS Hermann Gmeiner School, Gole Gujral with gaiety and patriotic fervor. The programme started with the hoisting of National flag by Principal of the School, R. K. Dhar and the Chief Guest on the occasion Dharamvir Singh Jamwal, Ex. Deputy Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation. March past was presented by four houses of the school namely Chenab, Jehlum, Ravi and Tawi. Principal of the school and the Chief Guest of the occasion inspected the march past and took the salute. Chief Guest Dharamvir Singh Jamwal, Ex. Deputy Mayor, Jammu in his speech said that India is a secular, republic and democratic country. He advised students to follow the footsteps of great personalities in life. The Prize distribution function was also held and prizes were distributed among best March Past troop, best commander NTSE high scorers, and winners of HGS inter school competitions. Jagriti Niketan Higher Secondary School too celebrated Republi Day with great fervour. Students on the occasion presented patriotic songs , paper on life of Netaji Subash Chander Bose and paper of life were read by the students . K S Public School celebrated Republic Day in their school campus. Students from various classes participated with enthusiasm and fervour. Dance performance by class 6th, Skit based on Chander Shekhar Azad and Group Song were the main attraction. Sudesh Sharma Chairman School, Mukta Sharma Director of the School presided over the function. The Principal of the School Seema Malhotra addressed the students and teachers on the occasion and congratulated them on 63rd Republic Day. Delhi Publi School too celebrated the day with fervor and enthusiasm . Students from various classes presented variety of programmes to exhibit their innate emotions towards the nation. Principals of the school , Sudarshan Sonar congratulated the students and staff on the auspicious occasion . Both the branches of Nightingale Pre-school at Channi Himmat and Rehari Chungi today celebrated 63rd REPUBLIC DAY .Chief guest on occasion were Yudhvir Sethi (BJP State Secretary) and Priya Sethi (Chairperson Nightingale). Priyanka Kapoor Principal of the School presided over the function. The function was started with hosting of national flag by chief guest and staff and kids sang the National Anthem. DTM convent high school, Ratnal, Bishnah too celebrated the day with fervor and enthusiasm. Students from various classes presented variety of programmes to exhibit their innate emotions towards the nation. Principals of the school, Sunita Bangotra congratulated the students and staff on the auspicious occasion. While addressing the students on the occasion Sunita Bangotra highlighted the importance of the Republic Day. Dev Raj Angral president of All India Angurana Biradari, Capt. Mir Chand, Vice President were also present on the occasion besides many other dignitories.
