Highway closes due LPG tanker leak leakage

Jammu, Jan 26; Jammu and Kashmir Highway today once was closed for usual traffic, and power supply also was cut off under precautionary measure with people from area evacuated after leakage of gas from a Srinagar-bound LPG tanker in Ramban district.
Giving details of incident about the leakage of gas from a big LPG tanker occurred on the highway at Nashri area in Ramban district, 125 km from here, Superintendent of Police, Ramban, Anil Mangotra said, that the traffic on both the sides of the highway were closed, electric supply to the area stopped and mobile phones and other gadgets that might ignite fire jammed as a precautionary measure.
The people in the adjoining areas were evacuated and special teams requisitioned to take charge of the situation, the SP said.
