| SP Doda calls on family of Shaurya -Chakra (Posthumously) awardee | | | Early Times Report
Jammu Jan 26: SP Doda, Mohammad Arif Rishu, met the family of Posthumous Shaurya Chakra Awardee Martyr Barkat Ali son of Bashir Ahmed resident of Gori Binola at his village Binola on 26th January, 2012 on the eve of Republic Day.
On behalf of DGP J&K Kuldeep Khoda, IPS IGP Jammu Zone, Jammu Dilbagh Singh, IPS DIG DKR Range Manish Kishore Sinha, IPS, SP Doda have extended wishes the entire family for the honour brought by the martyr for the department and the State as a whole by way of this award.
Besides this, about 100-150 people including Sarpanch of the illaqa Swami Raj had also gathered at the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, father-in-law of the martyr said, "We all are proud of the sacrifice of the martyr and urged entire J&K Police force to exhibit same spirit for the cause of the Nation. He also said that this award has given a lot of relief to all of us which means, that sacrifice of the martyr is not remembered in State only but in the entire country as a whole. He thanked the department for recommending the case of the martyr for this award."
Sarpanch of the Illaqa Swami Raj, and others also spoke on the occasion. Barkat Ali is awarded with Shoriya Chakra Posthumously in recognition to his outstanding and unfazed contribution in Operation Joura, Police Station Gandoh dated in which (02) dreaded Pakistani terrorists were killed and a lot of arms/ammunition was recovered.
Martyr Barkat Ali was the leader of the striking group of the operation party and was leading the group at the front. The operation resulted in killing of both the terrorists but department lost a brave soldier like Barkat.
SP also presented one colour television and some sweets to the family of the martyr on the behalf of police family.
