Bhadana exhorts party men to strengthen Cong in JK

JAMMU, Jan 27: Senior Gujjar leader, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) and All India Congress Committee (AICC) national secretary Avtar Singh Bhadana today flew in to Jammu on a one day visit to the winter capital of the state.
Upon arrival at the Jammu airport, he was accorded a warm welcome by senior functionaries, rank and file of the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) and senior office bearers.
On the occasion, Bhadana exhorted upon the party men to strengthen the Congress in the State and spare no effort to serve the people of all the three regions of J&K. He said that under the dynamic leadership of Rahul Gandhi the party was poised to do spectacularly well in the assembly elections in five states and the response of the people to his mass contact programmes in UP and elsewhere is testimony to his untiring efforts at consolidating the party at various levels. He said that Rahul was striving to reach out to the backwards and deprived and has been working amongst them to ensure social justice and political opportunity to them.
From the airport Bhadana drove straight to the residence of Gujjar leader and former minister Mian Bashir, father of NC leader and Forest Minister Mian Altaf to express his condolences on his and on behalf of the AICC on the demise of his daughter who met with a tragic accident recently. Bhadana prayed for lasting peace to the departed soul and expressed his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved. Later he also visited the residence of ailing Gujjar leader and former PCC President Chaudhary Mohd Aslam who has been unwell for quite some time. He wished the veteran Gujjar leader a speedy recovery and many more years of active social service.
Bhadana later left for the union capital in the afternoon from where he is scheduled to tour Madhya Pradesh the next day.
