| Various political parties, organisations celebrate 63rd Republic day | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
JAMMU, Jan 27: A series of functions marked the 63rd Republic day celebrations in different parts of Jammu region.
Republic Day was celebrated with great pomp and show in PDP office, Gandhi Nagar Jammu. The National Flag was unfurled by Thakur Balbir Singh, General Secretary PDP in a function.
Rangil Singh, Shanti Devi, Ved Mahajan, Fallail Singh, Ch. Hussain Ali Wafa, Narinder Singh Raina, Mahinder Kotwal, H S Sodhi, Suresh Sharma, Sushila Jamwal, Capt Anil Gour, Rajinder Singh Manhas, Balbir Singh, Chaman Angral, Puneet Jamwal, Rashpal Billoria, Sham Sharma, Dr. Surjit Sharma, Vimal Sharma and many others spoke on the occasion and prayed for peace, prosperity and tranquillity in the State.
Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) celebrated Republic Day in all its District and Block Headquarters. The main function was held at PCC headquarters here where Om Chopra, Ex-MLA and President District Congress Committee Jammu (Urban) hoisted national flag in the presence of functionaries of PCC, DCC, Mahila Congress, Youth Congress, Seva Dal, INTUC, NSUI and the people from all sections of society.
Speaking on the occasion, Chopra recalled the sacrifices of its great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru Neta Subash Chander Bose, Shaheed Azam Bhagat Singh, Sardar Patel, Mulana Abul Kalam Azad, Lal Bahadur Shastri, and many other freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives to liberate India from foreign rulers and guide modern India towards its substantive progress.
Mangat Ram Sharma former Dy Chief Minister, Senior Vice President PCC, Janak Raj Gupta Ex-MP, Ch. Lal Mohd Sabir, KL Abrol, DS Langeh, Inder Sehgal, Rajiv Gupta, Mian Nazir and Madan Lal Malagar were among the prominent who attended the function. In a colourful function, Ravinder Shrama, Member Legislative Council hoisted National Flag at Higher Secondary School Devak, today which was attended by a large number of people including Panches and Sarpanches.
Prominent among those were Naib Tehsildar Sunderbani Rakesh Sharma, Principal Pishori Lal, Sarpanch Subedar (Retd) Om Prakash and others.
63rd Republic day was celebrated at Rail Wheel Factory Stadium in a grand manner. Rajeev Bhargava, General Manager, Rail Wheel Factory, unfurled the National Flag. While speaking on the occasion, he said, "RWF has been an important contributor to the nation by giving quality indigenous products to the Indian Railways through its dedicated team and the purpose of RWF is to make India self-reliant in wheels, axles and wheel sets." M. Suresh, Airport Director, hoisted the tricolour along with ML Mehra, SP (AHJ), Station Managers - All Airlines, CRPF and AAI Staff. Children of the employees were also invited celebrate the Republic Day Ceremony and were distributed sweets and gifts. 63rd Republic Day was celebrated at Vijaypur wherein Hari Singh, Vice President PCC was the Chief Guest. Dr Chajju Ram-Sr. Vice President BCC Vijaypur hoisted the National Flag. The function attended by a large number of people including Panches and Sarpanches. Prominent among those were Omkar Singh, Rattan Chand, Dheru Ram, Suchet Singh, Parkash Sharma and Rashpal Sharma. Speaking on the occasion Th. Hari Singh recalled the sacrifices of great leaders and other freedom fighters who sacrificed their lives to liberate India from foreign rulers. Pawan Singh unfurled national flag at Satwari Chowk on 63rd Republic day amidst singing of national anthem and raise slogans "Bharat Mata Ki Jai".
Mohalla Welfare Committee of Ward No. 16, New Plot, organised a function to celebrate the 63rd Republic Day with great pomp and show.
Committee President Kuldeep Magotra, Vice President Jagdish Magotra, Gen. Secretary Yoginder Verma alongwith committee members- HK Koul, Dalip Pandoh, Vijay Khajuria, Rajinder Singh Jamwal, Ajay Sharma and Balbir Ram hoisted the tricolor and later distributed halwa among the gathering drawn from all sections of the society, including women, old, young and children.
On the occasion of Republic day, Kiran Hira, Chairperson, Family welfare Organization, Crossed Swords Division visited Military Hospital, Akhnoor.
63rd Republic Day was celebrated by NHPC Regional Office, Jammu at Narwal. Employees and CISF personnel participated. On this occasion, C Mohan, General Manager hoisted the tricolour. Speaking on the occasion, Mohan congratulated all present on 63rd Republic Day.
Tiny Tots Hr. Sec. School celebrated Republic Day with full gaeity and fervour in the school premises. The day started with the flag hoisting followed by march past. Vikrant Magotra was the group leader in the march past. Principal of the school Mrs. Deepali Handa took salute. Variety of colourful programmes were displayed. Students of kindergarten enchanted songs on patriotism.
Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) celebrated 63rd Republic Day with great zeal and national fervour at CBI complex, Railhead, on 26th January . Dr Armaandeep Singh, SSP, CBI hoisted the national flag and took salute from F Coy of 33 BN CRPF. |
