Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 27: Youth of Tehsil Akhnoor are suffering a lot on the nonchalant attitude of tehsildar Akhnoor.
This was held by National Panthers Students Union (NPSU) in a press conference held at Jammu University today.
.The press conference was chaired by Vriender Singh (President JU NPSU).
Addressing the media persons Vriender said that a Domicile/Residence Certificate is generally issued to prove that the person bearing the Certificate is a Domicile/Resident of the State by which the Certificate is being issued.
This Certificate is required as proof of residence to avail Domicile/Resident Quotas in educational institutions and in the Government Service, as also in case of jobs where local residents are preferred.
He said that the prescribed application forms are either available online or from the local authorities, i.e. the Sub-Divisional Magistrate/Tehsildar's office/Revenue Department/District Collector's Office, or any other authority as specified in the State of residence but the concerned Tehsildar of Akhnoor Tehsil is not issuing any domicile certificate to any candidate due to which the youth of Tehsil Akhnoor is suffering a lot.
He told that this domicile certificate gives relaxation in the age upto 5 years in the recruitment in paramilitary forces in five states which includes J&K state also but due to lackadaisical attitude of the concerned tehsildar youth of the Akhnoor tehsil is suffering a lot. He appealed the concerned authorities to interfere in the matter so that the grievances of the youth of said area should be addressed. He warned that if the concerned authorities fail to address the grievances NPSU will be forced to launch an agitation against the concerned authorities.
Other who were present including Jai dev Singh, Rishi Kesh Bhardwaj, UsmanGnai, Sandeev Singh Jamwal, Simran Jeet Singh.
