Bhalla lays foundation of deep drill tube well at Narwal
'Announces Rs 5 lakh for NSKH school infrastructure'

JAMMU, Jan 27: To meet the drinking water requirement in Raika, Rahim Nagar and Bandian villages, Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla has said Government has earmarked Rs 4.49 crore under Water Supply Scheme Raika for digging of 50000 gallon discharge capacity deep drill tube well at Narwal near Transport Nagar including construction of reservoir and laying of water pipes.
This was stated by the Minister while addressing a large gathering after laying foundation of deep drill tube at Narwal in Transport Nagar, here today.
Bhalla said with the dedication of tube well, the drinking water scarcity in Raika, Rahim Nagar and Bandian remote villages of his home constituency besides some areas of Channi Rama have been improved to a large extent.
Keeping in view drinking water scarcity in Channi Rama and its adjoining areas, the Minister said instructions have been issued to PHE department to find suitable way in improving the water supply in the areas. He said the existing 20000 gallon discharge capacity tube well which was constructed in the year 1952 is not sufficient to
fulfill the present populace drinking water requirements.
It was apprised by the Executive Engineer to Minister that the construction work on 50000 gallon storage capacity reservoir could be started after getting NoC from Forest Department.
Earlier, Bhalla also attended the Annual Day function of Naveen Shiksha Kendra High School (NSKHS) at Channi Himmat where he was the guest of honour.
The students of the school presented colourful cultural items which were highly applauded by the students, staff members and parents.
Speaking on the occasion, Bhalla said urged upon the students to take part in co-curricular activities side by side besides academic education for their overall personality development. He asked the teaching fraternity to make concerted efforts to ensure better future for students who are the future builders of the nation.
