Sai Shyam College holds Blood Donation Camp | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 27: The NSS Unit of Sai Shyam College of Education, Ghou-Manhasan, Jammu in collaboration with J&K AIDS Prevention and Control Society organised a Blood Donation Camp in the college premises, here today. A large number of college students and people from the adjacent area participated in the camp and donated blood voluntarily. Noted social worker Shammi Chouhan was chief guest on the occasion, while Dr Samira Khan. Medical Officer J&K AIDS Prevention and Control and Dr Raman Kapoor, Incharge Blood Bank, Government Medical College, Jammu were also present on the occasion. Dr Kapoor while speaking on the occasion opined that the donated blood gets replaced within three months and has no effect on the health of a person, while College Principal Dr Usha Tickoo in her address appreciated the role of J&K AIDS Prevention and Control Society for encouraging educational institutions to carry on such activities. She further said that the students of Sai Shyam College hold number of socially relevant programmes in and around the area throughout the session. NSS coordinator of the college, Kanchan Sharma congratulated the volunteers of the college for their active participation in the programme. She appreciated their gesture towards all such sick people who are badly in need of blood. Earlier, Chairman of the college, CL Tickoo presented the welcome address. Prominent among others present on the occasion were S Hardeep Singh, Councillor MC Ghou-Manhasan, Rattan Lal Sharma, Rajinder Singh, Keemat Lal, Reguvir Singh, Gopal Sharma, Bansi Lal and Manmohan Kour. |
