| City Club Drass lifts Ice Hockey CupKargil | | | Early Times Report
Kargil, Jan 27: City Club Drass lifted the 5th CEC Ice Hockey Cup 2012 defeating Tiger Hill Club Drass in the final held at Ice Hockey Ring, here today.The tournament in which eleven hockey teams drawn from Kargil participated was organized by the Department of Youth Services and Sports district office, Kargil. The final match of the tournament was held between City Club Drass and Tiger Hill Club Drass, in which the former outplayed the latter easily by 11 goals.For his superb play, Shakeel Ahmad of City Club was declared man of the tournament, while Mohammad Ismail of the same team was adjudged as man of the match.Chief Executive Councilor, Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council Kargil, Kacho Ahmad Ali Khan, who was the chief guest on the occasion, distributed prizes among the winners and runner-up teams.In his address, CEC said that winter games shall be held very soon in Kargil at Winter Sports Stadium and added that efforts are being taken to construct Ice Hockey ring at all block headquarters so that budding players get benefited.
Among others, Councilor Haji Ibrahim, Councilor, Abdul Rahim, SP Kargil, Javid Iqbal Matto, District Officers and large number of sports lovers were present on the occasion. |
