Militants throw grenades on army convoy | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Jan 27: A civilian was injured and an Alto vehicle damaged in a grenade blast in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday, an official told here. Sources said this afternoon, at around 12:30 hours, unidentified persons hurled a grenade towards army convoy near Azadgunj on Baramulla-Handwara road. The grenade missed the target and fell near an Army Hawaldar, deployed on patrolling duty. The soldier, officials said, kicked the device towards a lane and soon it exploded with a bang. A pedestrian identified as Master Mohammad Sultan sustained minor splinter wounds and was discharged after first aid in the hospital where he was rushed immediately after the incident, they said. An Alto vehicle (JK05B-9550) also suffered minor damage in the incident, they said. Later police reached the spot and joined army in searches, no arrests were made, they added. |
