Lucky Draw held for allotment of solar lights in Kishtwar | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Jan 28: The district administration today held draw of lots to ensure transparency in allotment of solar lights to the people. Giving details ADDC Kishtwar Nazir Ahmed Shah said that as per the direction of Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar Mohammad Hussain Malik, a committee headed by him was framed to select the beneficiaries with Tehsildar Kishtwar Indeerjeet Singh Parihar, Chief Planning Officer Kishtwar Subash Kumar, District Treasury Officer Kishtwar Abdul Majeed and Technical Assistant Science and Technology Department Gurdeep Singh as the members of the committee. He said that more than 2600 applicants had applied for the availing Solar Lights and said that government has accorded sanction of 1000 such solar lights at subsidized rates. He said that in order to make the process transparent, district administration decided to held open draw through lots. He said that the beneficiaries will have to deposit Rs. 5500 for each solar light. He said that the aim and objective of providing solar lights at subsidized rates is to promote the use of solar energy among the common people. He said that in case there is any fresh sanction of solar light quota, the left out incumbents will be adjusted. He said that after finalizing the list of the beneficiaries, the department of the Science and Technology will provide the same to the beneficiaries after getting the requisite amount from the beneficiaries. |
