| Failed to report Voters Day function, Republic Day absentees | | Self imposed emergency by Independent Media | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 28: " It was shocking when the Great Indian Media claiming to be a champion of independent reporting failed to perform its constitutional and moral duty on 25th Jan 2012, vis a vis coverage of the Great Voters Day function organized by the Election Commission of India and chaired by its Chairman, S.Y Qureshi in the presence of galaxy of notables with former President of India Dr APJ Abdul Kalam as Chief Guest. More than 25 senior diplomats from Afro Asia and European Countries were present. Several officials and voters were honored. Over 100 media persons covered the whole ceremony. It was shocking for the people, in face of some diplomats and Bhim Singh to find out the death of the coverage in the state as well in the private Channels of electronic media.
Next day the entire national press blacked out the entire story except Hindi Amar Ujjala and Dainik Jagran. There was no explanation. May be because all national parties boycotted the function because all participants (Indian voters) were made to take oath that they shall not vote for corrupt, criminal or tainted candidates and so on. The National Parties might not to take such an oath because there is no political party which has not fielded a tainted candidate in the election. Astonishing only two regional parties namely, Panthers Party and Telgudesam Party participated. The oath was administered by the former President of India. Any way the India media showed their real face only because of the full colored advt pages they were offered. Again on the republic Day there was no participation by the several opposition ruled states like MP, H.P, Gujrat, UP with no explanation served by the UHM states. The Jhanki from J&K and Punjab failed to deliver its message of the people. "Did the UHM and I&B ministry suffered from bankruptcy that they could not find a proper script or the regional-cultural representation of Ladakhies, Kashmiries, Dogras and the Punjabis."
