| 'Basant Panchmi' celebrated in Jammu | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 28: Various organizations celebrated the Basanat Panchmi here with enthusiasm and traditional fervour. Musical concerts were organized in this regard by various organizations including M D Swar Sadhna Sangeeta Kendra etc.
M D Swar Sadhna Sangeeta Kendra organized classical and light Music concert on the occasion of Basant Panchmi in which a large gathering of people felt enthralled by the performance of artists
Dr Vinod Sharma Professor was chief Guest on the occasion which was attended by a galaxy of people linked with art, literature and music.
Today's programme started with lightening and garlanding Goddess Saraswati by the Chief Guest. After Sarswati Vandna, Raag Yaman, Raga puriya, Raga Bhopali and Raga Darbari was presented by Mityatosh Varistha, Monisha Kumari, Manju Bala and Surinder Kumar Manyal.
Nityakashi Varistha accompanied on Harmonium, Jaissy Ram and Bhushan Kumar on Tabla, Dholak Raman Kumar on Synthesizer Jai Pal on Flute and Sarnsh Suman on Guitar and Mendalian.
Among those who participated in music programme included Surinder Kumar Dogra, Ullas Mahajan, Varinder Gupta, Ram Sarup, Kamleshwer Prashad Singh, Viverdhana Sharma, Kirna DEvi, Ishita Gupta, Kartavya Mahajan, Zaiba Siddique, Zeenab Saddique, Anwesh Jasrotia and Vijay Kumar Sharma.

Meanwhile in another occasion Basant Panchami Basant Utsav was celebrated by Swaranjali Sangeet Vidyalaya (Regd.) at Sarwal Colony, Jammu.
The programme started with lighting of Lamp by the Chief Guest Nazir Ahmed Dar, Inspector, J&K Police Jammu & Shashi Pal Sharma, PNB Employee Canal Road, Jammu, M K Sahil and Smt Sulochana Sahil founder members of Vidyalaya. After lighting of lamp Saraswati Vandana was performed by the students of the Vidyalaya.
Chief Guest, Nazir Ahmed Dar distributed the certificates to the performers and appreciated the programme on this Basant Panchami show. He mentioned that this Vidyalaya is really doing very well job for the promotion of the Indian Classical Music as well as the folk Music of the Region.
