| Guest lecture on 'Mathematical Logic' at MIET | | | Jammu, Jan 28 : Prof S C Arora former head of the Dept of Mathematics, University of Delhi, an eminent mathematician and a great operator theorist of India delivered guest lecture on mathematical logic at MIET. In the lecture Prof Arora traced the whole history of development of logic beginning with ancient time and illustrated many applications in day to day life. The lecture addressed one of the major shortcomings in engineering education namely, the disconnect between the theoretical mathematics taught and its practical applications. The lecture helped students appreciate the genesis of logic and how it can be applied in solving real-world problems.
Earlier Prof Arora was introduced by Prof B S Komal, HOD Applied Sciences, MIET who took the initiative in organizing this enlightening lecture. The proceedings were conducted by Ms Chetna Gupta while vote of thanks was delivered by Satish Gupta, Administrative officer. |
