Govt earmarks Rs. 29 lakh for Rajiv Nagar, Rahim Nagar nallah: Bhalla

JAMMU, Jan 28 : Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla has said Government has earmarked Rs. 29 lakh for construction of nallah including both sided deep drain up to Narwal link road.
This was stated by the Minister while interacting with the locals after kick starting construction work of nallah at Rajiv Nagar, here today. Bhalla asked the executing agency to redouble their efforts in completing the construction work of nallah including both sides of deep drain within targeted time frame so that road connectivity to Rajiv Nagar, Rahim Nagar and Krayani Talab would be provided to the people.
The Minister said that the Raika, Rahim Nagar and Rajiv Nagar areas are cut off and face lot of hardships during monsoon due to flash floods adding that after completion of nallah and deep drain, the people would get rid from flash floods.
The Minister called upon the people to personally monitor executing the development work to ensure judicious expenditure of funds and quality of material action. He said Government has resolved to provide concrete assets to the people across the State adding that worth crores of prestigious projects like flyover, tube wells, hospitals, colleges, grid stations besides roads have been under construction in remote areas of the State so that the quality of life of people is improved.
Bhalla said the Government is committed to provide all infrastructural facilities to the people across the State including safe drinking water, electricity, health, education, road connectivity besides better lanes and drains. He said there is no constraint of funds in making the state as model state adding that central Government headed by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh has provided liberal funding for this purpose.
He appealed the people to extend cooperation to the executing agencies in completing the ongoing prestigious projects under PMGSY, R&B, Health, Power, PHE and Education sectors in their respective areas.
Later, Bhalla also attended the annual day function of Muni Kamal Public High School, Gangyal where he was the chief guest.
