| Timber seized from sawmill, owner escapes | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 28: Police today raided a sawmill at Samba and seized a truck load of timber worth lakhs of rupees. Acting on a tip-off that a truck load of timber logs had been smuggled into Samba and taken clandestinely to the sawmill of one Binny Singh, police raided the premises late in evening. While cops started making searches, Binny created a scene and allegedly threatened them of dire consequences if they seized the truck which was loaded with timber, police sources said. When more police personnel arrived there, Binny fled the spot. Police then seized the truck and arrested its driver, the sources added. A case had been registered against Binny. A police hunt was on to nab him.
