Vakil threatens to approach SAC, people to decide who is frustrated | War of words continue over corruption charges | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 28: In a chain of allegations and counter allegations that has virtually triggered war of words between the two senior Congress leaders, it was the turn of PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Minister Taj Mohiudin to take on Abdul Ghani Vakil , former minister today, who sought the attention and intervention of Congress High Command on Friday into corruption charges against the departments being taken care of by the former. Vakil also retalitated in the same tone and tenor, contending it was a rightful demand in capacity of a citizen of the state to demand enquiry into the corruption charges which media has been highlighted against these departments. Vakil also threatened if approved and proper enquiry was not initiated he would be forced to approach state accountability commission. “ It is not my concern alone I am backed by many senior congress leaders who want proper enquiry into all matters and corruption charges in particular” Vakil said. He also reiterated that a case of corruption also stands registered in the accountability commission against Taj besides a case of alleged land grabing is also pending in honourable high court. Reacting sharply to Taj’s ‘unpleasent expression’ used against him Vakil said this does not matter it is for the people to decide and Judge who is frustrated and digruntled. Taj used the expressions like 'disgruntled and frustrated' for Vakil and even went on to the extent of saying that Vakil's 'irresponsible' gestures were not being taken seriously at any level and that he has no standing on the ground. He termed senior Congress leader, Abdul Gani Vakil as "irresponsible person who would always level false allegations against others." The reaction came in the backdrop of Vakil dispatching a letter to Congress high command in New Delhi alleging that Taj was corrupt and allegedly involved in scams in the departments under his portfolio. Talking to KNS Taj said, "Vakil is breaching party discipline and has gone out of control now. He (Vakil) has no standing on ground and has lost all the elections he has contested till now. He is frustrated and disgruntled." The senior minister threatened that he would file a defamation case against Vakil for leveling false allegations against him.
