Director agriculture flagged off farmers for study tour outside the state | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Jan 29: A group of 42 progressive farmers of district Ganderbal were deputed for 10 days study tour outside the State today by the Agriculture Department under the programme of "Exchange visit of farmers outside the state under Macro Management Program". The farmers will visited various Research Stations and Agriculture Universities to get them familiarized with the latest technologies in the fields of Agriculture, Horticulture, Floriculture, Poultry, and Dairy Technology etc. The farmers were flagged off by Director Agriculture Kashmir, Dr. Farooq A. Lone at Lal Mandi Srinagar. The Director said that today's visit of farmers shall not only boost their moral but shall also provide them the opportunity to interact with the fellow farmers of the country besides Agriculture scientists, research scholars and related field functionaries. The Director hoped that the touring farmers shall bring latest technology with them after their return. He said that in order to uplift the agriculture and allied fields of the state the department of the agriculture shall be frequently organizing such type of educational tours of farmers within and outside the state to update the farmers with the latest technology. On this occasion, Joint Director Agriculture, Inder Bushan Butt said that exchange of farmers tour is continuous process launched by the government so that farmers adopt high tech agriculture to boost agriculture production. Chief Agriculture Officer Ganderbal, S.A Shah said that the objective of such exposure visits is to make farmers aware about the latest technology in the various fields of Agriculture and allied sectors. |
