New Era Environment High School holds Annual Day function

JAMMU, Jan 29: New Era Environment high School, Jammu today held its 27th Annual Day function at Abhinav Theatre.
Raman Bhalla, Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation was the Chief Guest at the function, while Sheikh Bashir Ahmad, Chairman J&K State Board of School Education presided over the same.
Welcoming the Chief Guest and other distinguished invitees, Prabha Jain, manager cum principal of the school said that the New Era Environment School is situated in pollution free healthy environs, amidst natural beauty, overlooking the panoramic wide landscape of River Tawi and beyond.
The school presents new concept to impart education to the students in natural surroundings, which keeps the minds of the students and the teachers stress free which sharpens their intellect and enhances their capacity to grasp the things early.
The meritorious students having qualified with distinction from the school were also given away cash awards on the occasion.
Kiran Anand who had secured third position in the secondary school examination in the year 2011 was awarded Rs. 5000/- ,while Tania Gautam and Shubham Shinde, who secured 15th and 17th position in the examination were awarded Rs. 3000/- each. Similarly Ashna Mehta and Shubham Gupta who had secured Ist and Third position in the 8th class examination in North Zone A were given away Rs. 500/- each.
The staff members producing 100% results of the students in 10th and 8th class too were awarded cash prizes.
The prizes were also given away to the teachers showing good performance in the co-curricular activities by their students.
On this occasion a colourful cultural programme was also presented which took the spectators spell bound. The items displayed included Bhangra, other Punjabi items, Dogri dance and song items as well as Marathi and cultural items from some other parts of the country.
The skit conveying the message of coexistence among the inhabitants in the forest, presented by Tiny Tots was highly impressive.
As many as three hundred students participated in these programs and displayed their talent, to the appreciation of all present there.
Sh. Sudesh Mahajan president management committee of the school thanked the distinguished guests and the other invitees. Earlier CA Arun Kumar presented garland to the chief guest.
