| Marriage party firing: Five arrested, weapon seized | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Kathua, Jan 29: Five people were arrested for allegedly opening fire in air after a clash in a marriage party in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir. "We have arrested five people and weapon has also been seized," said J L Sharma,Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu. SSP Kathua said the weapon 12 bore rifle used by the miscreants during the incident too has been seized while the police is investigating the matter and the reason that forced them to open fire. Panic gripped Kathua town late last evening when locals heard a gunshot after a group of people attending a marriage function entered into a clash near Shaheedi Chowk. Police however, immediately rushed to the spot and started the investigations. |
