Attempt to murder case solved, 2 arrested: Police | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Jan 29: Police on Sunday said that it arrested two persons who were allegedly involved in an attack on one Shahzad Khan of Laber Check Saloosa on January 7 this year. A police spokesperson said, "On January 7 Shahzad Khan was attacked upon by some unidentified masked and armed persons. He was tortured on the pretext that he was working with security agencies and stabbed in both of his thighs and injured critically. Even some fires were shot on him but it missed the target." A case FIR No. 01 of 2012 under section 341, 307 RPC was registered in police station Kreeri and Investigation were taken up. "It surfaced that one Fayaz Ahmed Margay of Chil Beerwah who is affiliated with Tehreek-ul-Mujahidin outfit was behind the said attack. On questioning Magray disclosed the names of some more assailants who were part of the Tehreek-ul-Mujahidin outfit," the spokesperson claimed. He said one of the persons namely Mushtaq Ahmed Malik of Dompora Kreeri was apprehended by a joint party of Police and 29RR. "One AK series rifle, one magazine and four rounds were recovered on his disclosure from an apple orchard behind his house where he had kept it buried. The module was constituted on the directions of Abdul Gani Dar alias Gazali of Rusu Beerwah who is presently lodged in central jail Srinagar and is the chief of Tehreek ul Mujahideen outfit. During questioning it was revealed that Malik had masterminded the attack in order to settle personal scores with Shahzad and also to instill a sense of fear among the local masses," police claimed. The police said further arrests were likely to take place in case. |
