| DDC Budgam reviews Muharram arrangements | | | Budgam, January 16 About Rs. 23.35 lakh are being expended during current fiscal for providing drinking water and installation of street lights for Muharram purposes in district Budgam. This information was given to Deputy Commissioner, Budgam during his visit to various areas of the district to review the pace of ongoing works. It was revealed that Rs. 10 lakh are being expended on construction of 10,000 and 5000 gallon capacity water tanks in Nasizurah, Budgam, Khandah and Chattergam. Besides, Rs 13.35 lakh are being spent on installation of street lights in towns and other areas of the district for the convenience of the Muharram mourners, while roads through which Tazi processions are taken out are being repaired on war footing. The meeting was attended by the officers of public works, PHE, PDD and Rural Development departments.
