Dy CM calls for achieving maximum benefit from flagship schemes of government | Thousands attend Parents Day cum Awareness Camp at Khour | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 29 : Reiterating resolve of the government for all round development of the state, Deputy Chief Minister Tara Chand today said major infrastructure projects have been launched in the State and flagship programmes initiated so as to enable youth of the state for future challenges of employment. He said time has come for the young to look beyond government employment and need of the hour is nurture entrepreneur skills, so that they can not only help themselves but also create employment avenues for others. "Universalization of education is must but at the same time we have to see that our students are trained in the skills which enhance their employability and open new avenues of employment for them," he added. Deputy Chief Minister was addressing Parents day cum Awareness camp at Higher Secondary School, Khour. Over fifteen to twenty thousand people participated in the Mega function. The event marked initiation of awareness programme about various central and state government flagship schemes launched for the welfare of people. In order to upgrade infrastructure of local schools, Tara Chand announced a sum of Rupees 10 lacs for Higher Secondary School, Khour, 10 lacs for Higher Secondary School, Pallanwala and 5 lac each for High school Khara, Hamirpur, Gigrial, Nirvana and Kot Mehra. Highlighting role of the flagship SKEWPY, Tara Chand said coalition government headed by Jenab Omar Abdullah is alive to the problem of unemployment and to address the same revolutionary programme has been launched. He said youth of the state need to be made aware of the benefits being extended under the programme as well as about other centrally sponsored schemes for providing soft loans for study and start of new ventures. Enlisting infrastructure development projects in Khour area, Tara Chand said Sub-District Hospital is near completion and would be commissioned at the earliest for the benefit of the people of the area. He said land for Degree College has also been identified and work on it would be started very soon. Among others, Deputy Commissioner, Jammu Sanjiv Verma, Director, School Education G.A. Quershi, SDM, Akhnoor N.S.Jamwal, Director, RMSA, CEO and other senior officers of Rural Development Department, EDI, Employment Department and Urban Local Bodies were present during the function.
