Bhalla distributes compensation Rs 3.56 crore among 127 beneficiaries | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 29 :Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Raman Bhalla on Sunday distributed compensation cheques worth Rs 3.56 crore among 127 beneficiaries for their land acquired under the project of road widening of Airport to Lower Gaddi-Garh. Addressing the gathering, the Minister said that government is keen to provide full assistance to the refugees, who resettled in Jammu and Kashmir after partition. He said another pending compensation would also be provided soon after submission of their required documents by the beneficiaries. The Minister said that the proposal of one time settlement of this issue has already been taken up with the Prime Minister. Earlier, the Minister visited various areas of Jammu City to inspect the ongoing developmental works which included Jeewan Nagar, Rajeev Nagar, Gaddi-Garh etc. He also addressed public meetings and interacted with the local deputations who projected the problems of their respective areas. At Jeewan Nagar, the Minister directed the concerned authority for construction of Landoi Choi Nallah which poses a big trouble to the locals during rainy season. He also directed for completion of pending development work of park in the area. He assured upgradation of transformer in the area soon. |
