Search operation launched in Basantgarh area to apprehend militants

JAMMU JULY-31 Police launched a serious operation in Khandra soni Top Kadwa in Basant Garh area while some unidentified militants kidnapped a 18 year youth from his residence in Mandi area.
According to a police spokesman, the SDPO Ram Nagar camp Basant Garh along with police party launched a search operation in the Khandra Soni Top Kadwa falling under the jurisdiction of Police station Basant Garh to apprehend the militants. .
The spokesman said that during the search operation some militants fired upon the party which was effectively replied.. However, the militants managed to escape and there was no loss of life on either side. The search operation was still on when the reports last came in .
In the meantime, the search party recovered one magazine, eight rounds, one mobile phone and two AK 47 rifles from the encounter site.
The spokesman further said that some unknown militants kidnapped a 18 year youth identified as Bashir Ahmed resident of Dhanugam Mandi from his residence and his whereabouts were still not known.
