Released militant will be rehabilitated in Kashmir | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Jan 30: All the released militants would be rehabilitated to lead a normal and honourable life, a senior police officer said. Inspector General of Police (IGP), Kashmir Zone, S M Sahai, speaking at a day-long workshop on the rehabilitation of released militants at Baramulla, today said authorities will provide all help and assistance to them (released militants) to start afresh. About 200, released militants from all districts of North Kashmir participated in the workshop. Sahai reiterated the resolve to facilitate the rehabilitation of the released militants so that they are fully amalgamated in the national mainstream. He assured of providing every possible aid and assistance to them. IGP asserted that released militants are part and parcel of society and in no case should they feel any alienation. The IGP gave a patient hearing to the representatives of the released militants and assured that the problems being faced by them will be looked into sympathetically. Deputy Inspector General (IGP) North Kashmir range, Muneer Ahmad Khan said there are around 20,000 released militants in North Kashmir Range. He informed that most of them are poor and have meagre sources of income. \ The released militant informed Sahai and other police officers about the difficulties being faced by them for getting verification of character certificates for their children for passport and service. |
