Conceive a futuristic action plan for next-gen: Academia to Rather
Pre-budget discussions conclude

JAMMU, Jan 30:- Academia has called for a futuristic and Sci-fi planning for next-gen in the State, besides exploring new vistas of tourism along LOC trade and liberalized environment for private sector role in the state economy.
These please were made by a high level delegation of The Business School (TBS) of Jammu University, headed by eminent economist Prof. A.N.Sadhu, while interacting the Minister for Finance & Ladakh Affairs, A.R.Rather as part of his Pre-budget consultations, which concluded last evening after marathon meetings spread over 8 days form 22nd to 29thJanuary, 2012 held at Srinagar and Jammu. The Economic Advisor to the Government, Jalil Ahmad Khan and Principal Secretary, Finance M.I.Khanday, was also present during the discussions.
The group propounded many other ideas on wide ranging issues including possibilities of giving the people a modern style of living, development of infrastructure in a scientific manner, diversification of tourism, preservation of pristine glory of natural beauty spots, conservation of heritage sites, expansion of LOC trade, exploitation of tourism potential along LOC trade routes and along the Mughal road and investments in electronics and precision engineering industry. The group also advocated a more open and liberalized environment for private sector role in economy.
During the pre-budget meetings several organizations representing many groups of stake holders from fields, as varying as, Industries, Trade, Commerce, Tourism, Transport, Handloom, Handicrafts, Sericulture, Agriculture, Beekeeping, Horticulture, Diary, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Housing, citizenry concerned with improvement of quality of life and environment, as also intellectuals, academicians and economists met the Minister alongwith their sub-groups representing important sub-sectors falling under the umbrella of their respective organizations.
During all these meetings, the stake holders made comprehensive presentations and handed over written memoranda.
Apart from seeking relief and concessions for their respective sectors, the participants also made valuable suggestions for improvement in governance, development of economy of the State, creation of job opportunities for the educated youth as also measures for enhancement of State revenue.
