SOPORE, Jan 30: Paying glorious tributes to father of nation, Mahatma Gandhi today, the Deputy Chief Minister, Tara Chand said Mahatma Gandhi envisaged a country where all the sections of the society work together for strengthening communal harmony and integrity of the country for prosperous future.
He said that the coalition Government under the dynamic leadership of Omar Abdullah is committed for equal development of the three regions of the State. Tara Chand said that the Sopore has its own identity and it has produced a number of great personalities, politicians like G.R. Kar, Hakeem Habibullah, Ab. Ahad Vakil and who have made a great contribution in a number of fields
Highlighting the various developmental projects, the Deputy Chief Minister said presently there a number of bridges, roads, schools and college buildings under construction. He said, besides, this two central universities have been set up each in Jammu and Kashmir provinces for providing quality education to the students of the State. He said the State has witnessed a lot of progress in Agriculture, Horticulture, Electricity and other sectors like other parts of the Country.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that former Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi and her father Pt Jawhar Lal Nehru had a great love towards the people of the J& K and they visited the valley to access the problems of the people
He said during the tenure of Gh. Nabi Azad, a number of schemes were launched in the State and work on those schemes is going on and hoped that these schemes will be completed very soon in near future.
Referring the unemployment problem, The Deputy Chief Minister said that a number of employment generating schemes including SKEWP have already been launched in the State and till now thousands of unemployed youth have benefitted by these schemes. He said the buildings of new eight district headquarters are near completion.
