2 held with over 37 kg charas | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 30: Two Honda City-borne narco-smugglers were today apprehended by police after a hot chase at Omara Morh in Udhampur along with over 37 kilograms of charas. Police sources said cops signalled a Honda City (UP16/5231) to stop for checking at Jakheni. However, ignoring the signal, the car operator sped away. The cops chased the car in a Gypsy and intercepted it at Omara Morh. The driver and another person travelling with him were then asked by the cops to come out of the vehicle, the sources added. The search of car led cops to the recovery of 37.850 kg charas. Soon thereafter, both the narco-smugglers were arrested and the consignment was seized along with the car. The accused were identified as Abdul Nazir, son of Abdul Khaliq of Haba Kadal, Srinagar, and Abdul Azizson of Abdul Gani of Fateh Qadil, Srinagar. A case under section 8/20 of NDPS Act was registered against them at Udhampur police station. Sources said Udhampur police had seized about 198 kg charas in the past one year. |
