'Guru clemency resolution can't be brought back' | Lone assures impartial proceedings | |
Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 30 : Speaker Legislative Assembly Mohammad Akbar Lone Monday said that arrangements for the smooth conduct of ensuing Budget Session were being finalized and assured all the parties that he would ensure impartial proceedings. Talking to KNS Lone said, "Preparations for the Session which would start on February 23 and end on March 30 are on. Questions, Bills and Resolutions are being received." "There will be all party meet on February 19 where smooth functioning of the budget session would be discussed," he added.Lone appealed all the parties to cooperate in smooth functioning of the session. "My role will be impartial and I appeal all the members to raise public issues in proper manner in the House," the Speaker said. Reacting to a news report carried by Hindustan Times that MLA Engineer Rasheed plans to bring amnesty resolution in favour of Parliament attack convict, Afzal Guru, as a private member in the assembly session, he said, "According to the Assembly rules, if a resolution gets lapsed in one session it can't be brought back in the next session. If some member brings the bill, it won't be entertained." |
