Police unearths Charas processing unit, 4 persons arrested, Charas seized

Police claimed to have unearthed a Charas processing unit at Gopal pora, area of district Budgam and arrested four persons in this connection. Instruments used in processing of cannabis, some raw material and 2.6 Kgs of Charas has also been recovered room the site.
SSP Srinagar S.A.Mujtaba, while talking to reporters revealed that police received information from local people that some persons in Gopal pora Wathora are indulging in illegal processing of narcotic substances and supplying it to people, especially youth. Acting on this information a special drive was launched under the supervision of SDPO Sadder Keshav Chaurasia IPS and the place was raided.
He added that during the raid a large quantity of illegal cannabis and instruments utilized for the manufacture of Charas were seized from the spot. In this connection four persons were also arrested and some quantity of Charas recovered from their possession, which in total amounts to 2.6 Kgs of Charas.
He said that four FIRs No: 8/207, 9/2007, 10/2007 and 11/2007 under section 8/20 of NDPS have been registered against the culprits, who were identified as Nazir Ahmed Khan s/o Gh. Mohammed, Siraj-ud-Din s/o Gh. Mohammed , Tariq Ahmed Khan s/o Qasim and Mohammed Yousuf Khan s/o Qasim, all residents of Gopal pora.
He appealed to the chemists, not to give intoxicating medicines to people, especially the youth.
