| Backdoor appointments: ReT aspirants stage protest in Poonch | | | JAMMU: Alleging that atleast 85 back door appointments of ReT teachers were made in district Poonch, the aspirants in Poonch district today staged protest and also blocked National Highway for half an hour in Mendhar in Poonch district at Bhata Duniya.
Sources said that the protesters alleged that the department has made illegal appointments of 85 persons in the department as ReT and these appointments were made by the Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) Balakote in Mendhar.
The protesters, an eyewitnesses told over phone alleged that the coalition government should order a probe into the case and it should be handed over to the State Vigilance Organization.
To defuse the situation, senior officials including Sub District Magistrate Mendhar, Tehsildar Mendhar, SDPO Mendhar, and Chief Education Officer Poonch rushed to the spot and assured them for justice to them afterwhich protestors disperesed.
Meanwhile the CEO Poonch issued directions for the constitution of a five member committee to investigate into the allegations of back door appointments and submit its reports within ten days. |
