| Two IED’s diffused, major tragedy averted by police | | | Srinagar| January 16 Police today averted a major tragedy in Srinagar after its diffused two IED’s planted by militants near GB Panth hospital Sonawar. Official sources told News Agency of Kashmir that Militants had planted two IED’s near GB Panth hospital in Sonawar, which were timely detected and Bomb disposal squad of police was immediately pressed into service. Sources said the first IED was found fitted in a tin box and weighed around one Kilogram which was diffused at 0915 hrs. The other one was placed in an under ground hole and was diffused at around 1010 hrs. “With timely detection and diffusion of these IED’s, police has averted a major tragedy in Srinagar as the IED’s had been placed near busy GB Panth hospital for children and could have caused tremendous damage”. Sources added. |
