| Kulgam police arrests drug peddler | | | Early Times Report
SRINAGAR, Jan 30 (KNS): Kulgam Police in a special drive against menace of drugs/liquor arrested two persons on 28-12-2011 and recovered cache of liquor from their possession for which case FIR No.274/11 U/S 50 Excise Act has been registered in P/S Kulgam. During investigation of the instant case Police arrested one Tariq Ahmad Bhat on 09-01-2012 who police claims is a notorious smuggler of narcotic substances in the area and used to smuggle liquor clandestinely among the youths of the District.
"In view of the involvement of the said person for distribution of liquor among the youths, he has been detained under PSA and lodged in District Jail Kathua today on 29-01-2012. The role of Police for detention of such smugglers was appreciated by the general Public of the District Kulgam," a police spokesman said. |
