| JU announces athletics meet, forgets about cricket | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 31: Finally, the University of Jammu has abandoned the inter-college cricket tournament that too under pressure from a group of students of the Department of Law by announcing the dates for the annual athletics meet from February 13.With the finalization of scheduled for the athletics meet, followed by the valedictory function of the inter-college competition, JU has made it clear to the participating teams that cricket is no more a gentleman's game on the campus. "Lack of will on part of the University of Jammu against the errant students has sent a wrong signal to those who love cricket. The meek surrender on part of the authorities concerned would further encourage such elements," opined a senior cricketer.
Meanwhile, the Directorate of Sports and Physical Education has announced the five-day 39th Inter-College Athletics Meet on the campus from January 13 to January 17. |
