Sham chairs special DDB meeting, approves Rs. 30.31 cr. Action Plan for Doda | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 31: In order to bridge the critical gaps in the development of backward districts, the District Development Board has approved an Action Plan under Backward Region Grant Fund (BRGF) to the tune of Rs. 30.31 crore for the year 2011-12 for district Doda. The approval was accorded at a special meeting of the District Development Board, Doda, which held here today under the chairmanship of Minister for Health, Horticulture & Floriculture, Sham Lal Sharma. The meeting unanimously approved the Plan and directed the District Development Commissioner, Doda to forward the same to the Union Government for funding. Vice Chairman, Kissan Development Adivsory Board, Rachpal Singh, Vice Chairman, OBC Development Advisory Board, Kuldeep Verma, Vice Chairperson, SC Development Advisory Board, Swarn Lata, Legislators, Mohammad The Sharief Niaz, Abdul Majid Wani, Ashok Kumar and District development Commissioner, Doda Farooq Khan were present in the meeting.A threadbare discussion was held on the proposed Action Plan, which is to be submitted to the Central Government for funding. The Members pointed out several queries with regard to their respective segments, which were addressed by the Chairman and District Development Commissioner. The Members also put forth various suggestions and their view points were incorporated in the Plan. The Chairman stressed on rationalization of funds to address the critical needs of all areas. He called for active involvement of all the Members in the development process as also to ensure judicious use of funds for the specific schemes. He issued instructions to the District Development Commissioner to maintain close liaison with all the legislators to accommodate their view points while formulating and implementing various schemes. He also stressed on completion of various ongoing projects in erstwhile Doda and achieve the targets well in time.He called for proper follow up with the Central Government for immediate release of funds for the proposed Action Plan as very less time has left for the utilization of funds. |
