J&K govt finalises Rs 496 crore NRHM action plan | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 31: In order to upgrade health infrastructure and complete several on-going projects, the Jammu and Kashmir government has finalised a Rs 496.75 crore action plan for the National Rural Health Mission for the year 2012-13. A tentative action plan under NRHM to upgrade the health infrastructure and to complete several on-going projects in the state has been finalised to the tune of Rs 496.75 crore for the year 2012-13, NRHM Mission Director Dr Yashpal Sharma said today. The action plan of NRHM includes multifaceted activities related to upgradation of health care infrastructure in Jammu and Kashmir. Minister for Health, Horticulture and Floriculture Sham Lal Sharma finalised the plan at a high-level meeting of officers here. The priorities have been fixed according to the demands projected by the various stakeholders in all the districts, Sharma said. The Minister took a detailed review and status report of several projects undertaken under NRHM and State Programme Implementation Plan of NRHM for the next year to be submitted to the Central government. He also reviewed the status of Medical Mobile Units, procurement of Critical Care Ambulances, CT scan units and setting up of bio-medical waste units at Jammu and Srinagar. Stressing on the need for coordinated efforts to achieve better results, the Minister called for timely completion of various on-going projects and judiciously use of unspent funds. He directed the Directors, Health, to personally monitor the progress of the projects and maintain close liaison with the executing agencies and Mission Director to remove the hurdles. |
