Jammu, Jan 31: Crime Branch (CB), Jammu produces challan against Forest official for producing fake graduation certificate procured from Magadh University, Bihar.
The Crime Branch, Jammu produced challan in Case FIR No.10/2007 u/s 420, 467, 468, 471 RPC P/S Crime Branch, Jammu against one Pawan Kumar s/o Isher Dass r/o Krishna Nagar, Miran sahib Tehsil R.S.Pura District Jammu before the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Jammu on 31.01.2012.
The spokesperson said following an anonymous complaint received in Crime Branch, Jammu wherein it was alleged that one Pawan Kumar Forest Guard presently Forester in Forest Department had produced a fake graduation certificate procured from Magadh University, Bodh Gaya, Bihar for taking the promotion benefit and he also got promoted as Forester in Forest Deptt with the connivance of other higher forest authorities.
A formal case was registered and during the course of investigation, some record viz. Service Book of Pawan Kumar, salary statements and application submitted by the accused for promotion purpose were seized from the Forest Department. It was found that graduation qualification was somehow entered in his Service Book and when he came to know that an enquiry had been initiated against him, he managed a fake and fictitious graduation certificate from University of Magadh, Bodh Gaya, Bihar and incorporated the same in his service record illegally. The Service Book in question as well as application submitted by the accused for promotion purpose were sent to FSL for Forensic examination and expert opinion was obtained.
Moreover, genuineness/authenticity of graduation certificate (degree) was got verified from Magadh University, Bodh Gaya, Bihar wherein it was found that Pawan Kumar had neither taken admission in the said University nor any graduation certificate (degree) or marks statement was ever issued to him.
Investigation conducted on the basis of material evidence both oral as well as documentary brought on record, offences under section 420,467,468,471/RPC were substantiated against the above named accused who has been challaned in the Court of Law for judicial determination. Next date of hearing in the case has been fixed on 13.02.2012.
