| VC, JU visits department of Education | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 31: Professor M P S Ishar, vice-chancellor, University of Jammu visited Department of Education and held a brief interactive session with the faculty and other staff of the Department.
In his interaction he lauded the achievements of the department and asked the faculty to keep on working hard to maintain the quality of the instructional and research programme.
Earlier Professor Lokesh Verma, Dean and Head, Department of Education gave a brief description of the academic profile of the department supported with a power point presentation.
Prof Verma in his presentation briefed the VC and other dignitaries the curricula of the courses of M Ed. and M.A. (Education) programmes have been appreciated by various experts at national and international level.
He also informed that department has been granted special assistance funds by UGC-SAP under DRS I for the upgradation of the department infrastructure and instructional facilities.
On this occasion Professor Kiran Sumbali Bhan was also facilitated on her superannuation from her services after serving the university for the last 38 years . Professor Verma in his speech lauded the contributions of Professor Kiran Sumbali Bhan, the senior most faculty of the department and described her as a role model for other faculty of the department.
The vice chancellor Professor MPS Ishar also congratulated Professor Sumbali and wished for her good days ahead in her life.
The session was graced with the presence of Dr. Mubark Singh, Dr Rajiv Rattan Sharma, Dr Renu Nanda and other teaching and non teaching members of the department, who also conveyed their good wishes to Professor Kiran Sumabai.
