| GGMSC holds science awareness mela | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 31: A Science Awareness Mela for 3 days is being held in Govt. Gandhi Memorial Science College, Jammu in collaboration with J&K Student Welfare Society, catalyzed & supported by DST from 31st January 2012 to 2nd February 2012.
The mela was inaugurated by the Tanveer Jehan, IAS Commissioner/ Secretary to Govt. Higher Education Department J&K Govt. who lauded the efforts of organizers & participants and encouraged them to remain motivated for similar activities in future as well.
Director Colleges Muqbil Chisti was also present on the occasion and while addressing the gathering she emphasized that such activities would generate a scientific temper in the young minds.
Earlier Principal, Govt. Gandhi Memorial Science College Satinder Singh welcomed the gathering.
He stressed for the improvement and enhancement of the understanding of Science and inculcates scientific aptitude in the budding learners.
Namrata Gupta, Coordinator of the Mela, highlighted the various activities to be held during these three days viz. Quiz Competition, Display of posters, Science talent test, Seminars and exhibition of models. Four stalls were also put up by the DST for display Secretary J&K Student Welfare Society. Shabir Ahmed Shabir also spoke on the occasion.
Students of K.V. Sujnawan presented a dance drama during the function that mesmerized the audience. A vote of thanks presented by Vandana Khajuria. |
