| Urdu seminar concludes | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 31:The two day seminar on Urdu language, which began at KL Saigal Hall
here on the other day concluded today. The event had been organised by Academy of Art, Culture and Languages in connection with golden jubilee celebrations of Urdu edition of its literary journal 'Sheeraza'.
On the concluding day today deliberations were held on various aspects of Urdu language and culture with particular emphasis on history and evolution of Urdu journal of Academy of Art, Culture and Languages. On the final day today noted litterateur and former secretary of Academy, MY Taing gave an elucidative talk on Urdu language and
culture. He also spoke on the working of Urdu section of Academy and appreciated its contribution to the Urdu language and culture.
Later a mushaira was also held in which several noted poets recited their latest poetic collections. Those who participated in the mushaira included Khurshid Kazmi, Rahat Hussain Rahat, Amin Banihali, Khurshid Bismil, Sabir Mirza, Dr. Sham Kamal, Dr. Liyaqat Nayar, Waheed Musafir, Abdul Gani Jagal, Beetab Jaipuri, Nizamudin Saher,
Mohitshem Ahtisham, Ameen Sabonia, Sheikh Khalid Karar, Ghulam Nabi Gafil.
, Dr. Karan Singh Karan, and Ali Sheda.
During the Mushiara Sabir Mirza, Arsh Sehbai and Khurshid Kazmi shared the presidium. |
