J&K CTA extended warm welcome to VC | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Jan 31 : The Presidium of J&K College Teachers Association (Jammu Wing), called on Professor M P Singh Ishar, Vice Chancellor of University of Jammu. Dr Avinash Kumar Gupta President of the Association extended a warm welcome to the new Vice Chancellor, on behalf of the entire Government College Teaching fraternity of the province. Interacting informally with the Association presidium, the Vice-Chancellor expressed his desire to inculcate scientific temper among the youth and re-ignite the passion for science education among the students. He expressed that the teachers had to play a highly significant role in the classroom, in achieving this goal. Professor Ishar also shared his views regarding initiating some student friendly measures vis-à-vis conduct of examinations, evaluation, re-evaluation, timely declaration of result etc. Dr Avinash Kumar Gupta, President College Teachers Association assured the Vice Chancellor full cooperation of the College Teachers in his endeavour in improving the standards of higher education in the Province. Dr Avinash Kumar Gupta also expressed his feeling for greater and active participation of College Teachers in various University bodies, considering that during the last few years the number of Government Colleges affiliated to the University has significantly increased to around 45 colleges. Various other issues pertaining to the College teachers were also discussed. Dr Satesh Bhan, General Secretary; Professor Anjali Mahajan and Professor Ranjeet Singh Jamwal , Vice Presidents; Dr Chanchal Khajuria, Treasurer; Professor B K Gandotra Joint Secretary; Dr. Neeraj Gupta, Joint Treasurer; Professor Jagdish Kumar, Organizing Secretary and Professor Joginder Singh, Publicity Secretary accompanied the delegation which called on the Vice Chancellor. |
