| JMC Mayor lays foundation stone of Sulabh Sochalaya | | | JAMMU|JAN 16
Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation Ch. Man Mohan Singh and MLA Yogesh Sawahney today laid the foundation stone of Sulabh Sochalaya at Jewel in presence of the Municipal Councilor Lalita Sharma.
The Sulabh Sochalaya is a part of the program to construct 50 such public toilets being constructed by the JMC in the areas under its jurisdiction.
Addressing the function, the Mayor said that sites for construction of 25 sochalayas have been identified and rest are being identified adding that work is in progress on such a sochalaya at Medical College involving a cost of Rs.40 lakhs. One such sochalaya would be constructed at Chabeel Wali Gali while the work would be taken up at Peerkho temple complex and Kachi Chawni shortly.
He said construction of such public conveniences shall facilitate the general public, especially the ladies and children who face lot of difficulties in the absence of such facility as a many a times the in sanitary conditions prevail due to the non availability of such facilities adding that this would help to create a hygienic atmosphere in Jammu.
