| Drive against illicit distillation continues | | | JAMMU|JAN 16
Continuing its drive against the menace of distillation of illicit liquor and its sale, SHO Police Station Arina conducted a raid during the intervening night of January 13-14 at village Sheikhpur under the direct supervision of SSP Border.
During the raid about 200 litres of Lehan were destroyed on spot while 11 plastic packets of illicit liquor were recovered and seized on the spot from one Raj Kumar son of Isher Dass of Sheikhpur.
A police handout said that the accused was arrested and a case FIR NO 03/07 under section 48-F of Excise Act was registered and investigation started.
The report further said that SHO Miran Sahib arrested two persons namely Balbir Singh and Baljinder Singh of Simbal camp under 50-A Excise Act.
