Srinagar, Jan 31: Senior Congress leader and former minister, Abdul Gani Vakil has vowed to expose the State PHE Taj Mohiddin for the latter's alleged rampant corruption and misuse of official position.
Vakil said today he would expose all the bungling and scams in PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control departments led by Taj Mohi-ud-Din.
Vakil has decided to lock horns with Taj despite Union health minister Ghulam Nabi Azad warning against indiscipline in the party.
"I will leave no stone unturned till all the scams are exposed," Vakil told said in response to Taj Mohiuddin's statement that Vakil would be ousted from the Congress.
Vakil claimed that he was following the mission of Congress President Sonia Gandhi and its General Secretary Rahul Gandhi, on corruption. "Soniaji and Rahulji's instructions are that every Congress man should raise voice against the corruption even if the person involved is from our party. I am following their orders and want to make the Congress strong," he added.
The former minister rejected all the allegations leveled by Taj against him saying, "It is his (Taj's) frustration which is forcing him to level baseless allegations against me."
"I'm not on talking terms with him from the last four months so there is no question that I would have sought any favour from him," he said.
Vakil alleged that Taj was involved in corruption since he was minister for CAPD in the previous government and corruption case is pending against him (Taj) in State Accountability Commission (SAC) for which he has sought a High Court stay and that case is pending for investigation in the SAC.
Earlier, a large number of Congress workers expressed solidarity with Vakil at his residence and expressed their full support to him. It is now an all out no-holds-barred war of attrition between Vakil and Taj.

Vakil has been known for his firebrand speeches and open public admonition of wrong doings in the party.
Vakil said this while addressing public meetings. He was accompanied with general secretary J&K PCC Vinod Sharma, Chief J&K Sevadal Balwinder Singh Sambyal and many others during his tour.
