Govt decision of 'allotting EP to KPs' flayed | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Jan 31: Taking strong notice of the State government's decision of allotment of two room accommodation for 209 Kashmiri migrants by Custodian/ Evacuee Property (EP), various refugee organizations, VHP, Shiv Sena, Dogra Liberation Front and Duggar Pradesh Party are up in arms against the decision and have warned to protest against the decision. The VHP while criticizing the decision of allotment of accommodation to migrant familles to which notification was issued by Custodian /Evacuees property here few days back termed it a conspiracy at government level. VHP state president Dr Rama Kant Dubey and its other office bearers Dr Sham Lal said that the decision is a part of the conspiracy to change the demography of Jammu region which will not be tolerated at any cost. They questioned that how many families of Hindus were allotted the land in Kashmir Valley during last 60 years. The VHP leaders said that government should immediately revoke the decision failing which the VHP will be forced to launch the agitation. They also questioned the rationale of making allotments clandestinely in favour of the Kashmir families saying that no proper advertisements were made for the same and rules were thrown to winds. They said there is a lot of resentment among the masses against this discriminatory decision of the state government which has ignored the plight of PoK and West Pak refugees who are pleading for the allotment of land for years together but have allotted the land to people from Valley who have no need of it. They said already hundreds of families from Kashmir have been settled at Bhatindi, Sidrah and other places by encroaching the forest land by government in total violation of SC directives and now the government has decided to settle more Kashmiri people in this region. Supporting the VHP leader JK Peoples Front chairman Satish Poonchi said that his organization will not allow government to implement the decision and said what the role Custodian Department has in this regard. He demanded immediate cancellation of the allotments and issuing of fresh allotments either on the name of PoK , West Pak or border refugees. The decision has drawn flak with various social and political organizations criticizing it on the ground that why government has been compelled to allot the quarters for the people from Valley when hundreds of PoK refugee families, border migrants have not been considered for the same though they have made a demand in this regard for years together.
