Vakil welcomes action against Education minister | | | Early Times Report SRINAGAR, Feb 1: Former Minister and Member AICC Abdul Gani Vakil today in a statement welcomed and appreciated swift action taken by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on the news report published in daily newspaper wherein state Education Minister Peerzada Mohammad Syeed's name appeared for allegedly favoring his son to pass the matriculation examination through unfair means. Vakil said that handing over the issue for probe to the crime branch of police has resurrected image of the government and reflected resolve to fight corruption at all levels. He added that people of the state however expect more from your government and have been craving for applying same yardstick in other departments especially in PHE and Irrigation where the media on different occasions had highlighted large scale of bungling. It is the media which has highlighted multi crore scam in PHE division Rajouri, 45 crore scam in the PHE Division Samba, Bungling in PHE division Bandipora and not only this but it is the media which has highlighted transfer bazaar in PHE and Irrigation department and what is more important diversion of Rs 18 Cr NRDWP funds to Doda in gross violation of norms and guidelines, Vakil added.
