| Sadbhavana tour for senior citizens flagged off | | | Early Times Report
KISHTWAR, Feb 1: Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) Kishtwar Sajjad Ahmed Kitchloo today flagged off educational-cum-motivation tour for senior citizens of Kishtwar District organized under Operation Sadbawna by 17 RR (Maratha LI) under the ages of Commanding Officer 9 sector Rashtriya Riffles (RR) Kishtwar.
MLA Kishtwar in his address hailed role of army in maintaining peace and communal harmony in trouble torn state of Jammu and Kashmir. He said that in remote areas of Kishtwar District, army has provided helping hand to the people by providing furniture for school buildings, computers and books. He thanked the army officers posted in Kishtwar District for their overall support to the people of this hilly District and said that army in Kishtwar District played an important role during emergency situation like road accidents by providing man and machinery during rescue and relief operation.
He hoped that army will continue its good will gesture in Kishtwar District by serving the people in future as well with same enthusiasm. Col NS Raja Subramaniam in his address said that Army has carried out numerous 'Operation Sadbhavana' projects to assist civilians.
He said that the tour is aimed at giving the senior citizens an opportunity to view the rich culture and traditions of others parts of India, developmental and growth activities and also interact with people from different parts of the country. He said that as per the tour itinerary, senior citizens will go to Belgaum, Goa, Cochin and Delhi.
