Centrally sponsored schemes fail to yield desired results: PDP | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, Feb 1: Expressing grave concern over rampant corruption in the administration, General Secretary of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Thakur Balbir Singh regretted that most of the government sponsored schemes have failed to yield expected results in the rural areas due to mal-administration and corruption. Addressing series of public meetings at Lakhanpur, Gaghwal, Chan Khatrain, Hiranagar, Barwaly Nagrota and others areas in connection with the scheduled visit of PDP patron Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Thakur Balbir Singh said that there was no transparency and accountability in the government departments and those at the helm of the affairs have been blatantly looting the public exchequer. He said that overnment has failed to keep a check on corruption and nepotism. He said that people have been facing hardship due to such policies of the government. Thakur Balbir Singh asked the party workers to expose misdeeds of this regime before the masses. He said that every section of the society has been suffering due to the misdeeds of this regime headed by Omar Abdullah. Singh observed that centrally sponsored schemes, which have been especially formulated for the development of the backward areas, have implemented only on papers. "Either these schemes have been politicized or implemented only on papers", he said and pointed towards large scale bungling in MNREGA and Indira Awas Yojan schemes in this belt. He warned to come on roads if coalition government to solve day today problems of the common masses. Party observed that during the last three years, this dispensation has compounded woes of the people due to its wrong policies. Jagdish Singh Sarpanch, Brij Lal, Sarpanch, Jodh Singh, Rakesh Kumar Bunty and others also addressed these meetings. |
