Young aspirants for prison posting wait for recruitment | | | JAMMU, Feb 1: Young aspirants waiting for being recruited as warden in Prisons department of Jammu and Kashmir Police (JKP) have been left to fend for themselves. In 2005, PDP-Congress coalition government advertised 150 posts for wardens in Jail police (Prison) vide advertise notice number 539 of 2005 dated 25-08-2005 and invited applications. Thousands applied for the advertised posts. But the recruitment is yet to be started. The probable candidates protested and government came into action in November 2010. They began both physical and outdoor interviews. More then 1200 candidates passed physical interview and later they were summoned for documents verification and interview. Most of them have passed the interview and got their documents checked. Desirous candidates have met him in an Awami Darbar at his private residence Church Lane, Srinagar on September 21, 2011. He (Omar Abdullah) had assured then that list would be declared soon but his assurance got deflated and turned into white lie. One of the MLAs, Mohammed Yousuf Tarigami had assured candidates that he would forcefully raise the issue in assembly and would get the selection list declared by the authority. Minister of State (MOS) Home Nasir Aslam Wani said that previous government had given wrong advertisement, which has created problem for present government, but we are going to settle the issue while considering the age of the applicants, who had applied for the posts. |
